How We Rank

Our top 10 lists are research rankings. Here is exactly how we build them.

What we look at

• Expert reviews: published hands-on testing from established reviewers and labs.
• Aggregated consumer review data: star ratings and review counts across major retailers. We only show a rating when we found it, and we name the source and date.
• Specs and value: features, warranty, capacity and price for what you get.

What we don't do

• We don't hands-on test products unless a list clearly says so.
• We never invent ratings, review counts, quotes or testimonials.
• Brands can't buy a spot in a ranking. Sponsored content is always labeled.

Freshness

Each list shows when it was last updated. Prices are noted "at time of writing" and change often.
